Dr Lavanya
About Dr Lavanya
A voice behind the screen, and a teacher in front of it.
Music has been part of her life since she was three. She trained first in Carnatic music, then Hindustani, and went on to sing solo songs in more than 100 films across five regional languages for composers including Ilaiyaraaja, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Harris Jayaraj, D. Imman and G. V. Prakash Kumar.
Alongside film songs she has sung popular TV advertisements and Hindu, Christian and Muslim devotional songs and private albums. What she learned across all of these led her to found Talent Studio in Velachery, Chennai, where she has trained students for the last 15 years.
